Megan Jones, DNP

Palliative Care Provider

Megan Jones, DNP, FNP-C is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience in primary care, critical care, and complex medical decision-making. She brings a strong clinical foundation and a patient-centered approach to her role on the palliative care team.

Dr. Jones earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Maryville University, where she completed diverse clinical rotations across family practice, emergency medicine, pediatrics, and women’s health. Her doctoral project focused on early educational interventions to prevent gestational diabetes, reflecting her commitment to proactive, evidence-based care.

Prior to joining OnSite Medical Palliative Care, Dr. Jones practiced as a Nurse Practitioner with Maryland Primary Care Physicians, providing comprehensive care for adolescents and adults with chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and mental health disorders. Her work emphasized interdisciplinary collaboration, diagnostic interpretation, and timely escalation of care when clinically indicated.

Her nursing background includes several years in high-acuity settings, including critical care float roles across multiple ICUs within the University of Maryland Medical System and prior experience at Johns Hopkins Hospital and University of Maryland Medical Center. These roles required advanced assessment skills, adaptability, and calm clinical judgment during rapidly evolving and life-limiting conditions, including trauma, sepsis, and post-operative critical illness.

In palliative care, Dr. Jones is dedicated to supporting patients and families through serious illness by focusing on symptom management, quality of life, and clear, compassionate communication. She values multidisciplinary teamwork and strives to meet patients where they are, both medically and emotionally, while helping them navigate complex healthcare decisions with dignity and respect.
